More +

The Rio Vermelho House is the place where Jorge Amado and Zelia Gattai lived.

This house, full of stories and experiences with family members and friends of the two writers, will reopen to the public, fulfilling their desire, as well as their descendants, to share its rich experience and estate.

It is intended to rehabilitate the building and garden and its conversion into a museum and restaurant space that can function together or independently.

The entrance to the house is maintained and, after crossing the ticket office, visitors can walk through the spaces merely restored and where will be placed some display cabinets and niches.

The restaurant occupies the space of the old library, keeping the existing book shelves.

Outside it is created a terrace around a pond, the former pool, covered by a pergola.

A logo was designed using two symbols related to Orixá’s mythology (Oxum and Óxossi), that are present in Carybé’s tiles.
