The outside space will serve the existing school equipment, and operate in parallel as Assisted Living Residences outer space. It will be a space intended for two groups of specific users, with heterogeneous patterns of use, but with identical constraints related to safety and mobility. Thus it’s essential to reconcile and articulate these standards in order to reach a structural unit that absorbs the different generation needs and requirements.
The assisted living user’s space is a natural extension of the building and is intended to be realized as rest and stay area. The user needs and constraints points to an obstacles free area, without becoming too artificialized. Thus, it will be paved in large extent, easing mobility, and it will be punctuated by some trees in containers.
The children's playground will be reserved for two specific age groups, each with legal specificities in security features. On the other hand there is the need to create a multifunctional and recreational spaces consisting of attractive, didactic and rest areas.
Landscape Architecture project focused particular attention to children's play subjects, ensuring the space safety conditions, mainly in relation to placement, functional organization, equipment choice, safety and impact surfaces, non-toxic or irritating vegetation use.
